Biography:
Currently living in one of the hottest small city in the nation, Tucson has treated Shawna well. With great friends by her side she is enduring the life as a Tucsonan. She enjoys her many hobbies which include singing to perfect strangers at Karaoke bars, watching movies over and over again, checking our hot guys, and reading in her spare time. She would like to start a book club someday...
Born in Gallup, New Mexico and raised in Glendale, Arizona, Shawna moved to Tucson after her graduation from high school to attend the University of Arizona’s Media Arts program. After just one more semester to receive her bachelors degree in the Media, she decide to take another direction to the first passion she never thought could be possible, Theater. While Shawna has always been passionate about acting, she never thought of it as a career until later in her college career. While growing up, she performed and reenacted many of her favorite movie scenes for family and friends.
Shawna began her professional training as a drama student at Glendale’s High School of the Performing Arts. She won roles in such Shakespearean productions as Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, Viola/Cesario in the Twelfth Night, and Hero in Much Ado About Nothing. In 1997, her last year in the drama department, she closed her high school career with a musical bang by accepting the role of Anita in the West Side Story.
After her graduation in 1997, she won roles in small productions in Tucson as the Medium in Rashomon, the Ostrich in The Wedding on the Eiffel Tower, and a enchanted fairy in Tucson’s first Rock Opera Twitch: A Rock Opera from Earth, reviewed by the Arizona Daily Wildcat.
