September 18, 2004: All the Good Men are either Gay or Married

Just another night with the girls, so this one night before the going to IBT’s we're down at the local trendy bar Plush, the three (Andrea, Kevin, and I) of us, boozin', havin' a few laughs and we ran out of drinks, so I go out to get some. I ran into another girlfriend of mind (can’t remember her name) saw me talking to this one dude. Well the conversation was "Are you standing in line?" She pulled me aside and asked if I knew him. No, I said. She wanted me to talk to him for her. Great, you would think that when I go to a straight bar I wouldn't have to use my good looks to lure some guy on over. I get enough of that at the gay bar.

So I talked to him, Matt is his name, I told him I would remember his name because I have a little brother name Matt and he is such a little pain that I called him Doormat. Matt laughed. (The dude, not my brother) Any-hoo, we have an innocent conversation about what majors we are in at the university. He told me he was studying engineering and I told him I am in musical theater. He loved my major and asked me if it is any fun. I told him it is as good as it gets. Then he bought me a drink and I totally forgot that I was supposed to lure him to the table. I was having a blast. I was liking him and he was a hell of a lot better guy than the loser I dated the night before. But it all came to a tragic end after I was going to make my move. He… well let Alanis Morisette tell you what happen:

”It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
I met the ‘old ball and chain’ and she turned out to be just wonderful. Pretty, nice, and willing to laugh with me. I told her about how I was sent to lure her husband to my friend, by the way has gone beyond tipsy. I mean she is grabbing guys’ butts. CRAZY. And we were now picking on her husband. You know how girls have a secret language. He just sat there clueless to why we were laughing for no reason. I said my goodbyes and told them it was a pleasure to me them. They returned the favor and I headed over to good old’ IBT’s. It is amazing how my boys miss me when I arrive late.
